The Courtyard Columbus by Marriott is currently undergoing renovations, impacting guest experiences. While some guests appreciate the staff and cleanliness when the renovations are complete, numerous reviews cite issues with construction noise, poor communication regarding the work, and substandard room conditions including dirty carpets, stained furniture, and a lack of essential amenities. Value is questionable given the current state of the property.
Newly renovated rooms are such an improvement!!! We stayed here pretty renovation and boy did it need it! Every interaction with staff has been pleasant. No complaints, great stays
Front desk staff was great very nice and professional rooms were clean. The only problem I had was the 2 ladies that did the breakfast buffet one girl stayed on her phone holding up the wall both mornings I came in. The same girl never looked up to busy on her cell phone. The sausage was way overcooked. I did come in exactly 2 minutes earlier for coffee the first morning with another customer she gave her coffee but told me I had to come back in 2 minutes very unprofessional ladies that work breakfast.
I have been staying at this location for years. I decided to extend my stay one more night and asked if the staff could grab some linens out of my room. I opened the door she said just put them on the floor & that was the end of that. I get a “courtesy call” because the staff said there was smoke coming from my room and at the time I had my friend visiting the room, and neither one of us were smoking on the property whatsoever. So then maybe 4 minutes later FIVE staff members proceed to barge into my room barely speaking to me, one being male. Then they turn around to leave without telling me what’s going on, so I had to go out and say something to them. The staff blatantly lied because it would’ve been undeniable if I were smoking in the room and with five of them coming in there they would’ve known. The manager of the front desk threatened to charge my card $250 if there were any evidence of me smoking which clearly there wasn’t. They didn’t even bring me another blanket so I took a video of the room just in case they try to lie again. I’ve never been so uncomfortable, I was alone with my 2 kids thank goodness they were at school and a friend was with me since 5 staff member barged in on my room I paid good money for. If they would’ve gave me my money back I would’ve left. That was so unprofessional and disgusting. I will never be back and shame on you to whoever blatantly lied. May you have the day you deserve.
This was my go to years ago. Always loved the ri I Ms, and the beds. The one I stayed in was having some remodeling done, but I was in the old room. Sliding glass door wouldn't close of lock and staff didn't seem to care. 160.00 ,I expect a lock or at least a broom handle!!
The staff and cleanliness of the room was exceptional. The staff was sooooo professional and treated us like royalty. My hat off to Patrice and Jackie who too care of us from check in to check out. The resturant staff was just awesome. We couldn't walk away from them without tipping. The food was made like I was sitting in there kitchen, it was made with love!!!!! From now on 3501 Courtyard way, Columbus GA will be our hotel. One side of it is under construction so we stayed on the remodeled side and it was gorgeous. My hat off to the entire staff that was very professional from start to finish and made you feel welcomed. Thank you so much Patricia for what seems natural to you and your staff.
True, the hotel is currently under construction remodeling. But our room was clean. And their service is very good. And they try very hard to be courteous and hospitable. Ms. Toni Davis was incredible helpful and considerate. And one of my hubby's coworker was given an upgrade because his room had not been cleaned. Their breakfast super delicious and the person that served my breakfast on 12-30-2025 was very nice. Rooms has a mini fridge, coffee maker, but no room microwave. Must use the one at lobby.
The room was great! They charge a security deposit that was NOT listed anywhere on my booking info. "Total Due, including all fees and taxes at check in" was $137, but with security deposit, they charged $169. Security deposit will be refunded 3 to 5 business days after check out. On the reservation, it was two 12 year old and me. The "Breakfast Included" was for only two people. Nice hotel just not ran very well.
As a Bonvoy member, I was dismayed to discover that this hotel is undergoing renovations with no indication of this in the app. Had that information been disclosed, I would not have made the reservation. Now that I am here, I was further disappointed to learn that the fitness area is also currently unavailable. As I was winding down in my room (178), I noticed a high-pitched ringing noise—definitely not a pleasant experience. As a loyal Marriott customer, I would truly appreciate it if this feedback prompted better disclosure when properties are under renovation.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!! This is the worst experience I have ever had. My room was right next to the construction site, so there was a weird smell in the hallway, my room’s carpet had a very questionable stain, and I woke up to a bug crawling on my wall. Oh and my fridge did not work correctly so my insulin was ruined. When I told the lady in charge, she told me I should have called the front desk and they would have put my insulin in the fridge in the kitchen. I told her, all the other Marriott hotel I have stayed at had a working fridge in the room. If I could give negative stars I would. SO AGAIN DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!
From the lobby and the online photos, you’d think this place was luxurious but it’s far from it. The check-in staff were friendly and welcoming, but the communication from management was extremely lacking. They were doing renovations, yet there were no signs posted, no verbal heads-up, nothing. The next morning I woke up to take a shower and the water came out dark brown. The videos I took don’t even show how bad it truly was it was about three times darker in person. When I called the front desk, the lady casually said, “Oh, we’re doing renovations, just let the water run.” I understand renovations happen, but why wasn’t I notified beforehand? Most hotels at least slide a notice under the door when something like that is going on. The rooms themselves are what really need renovating very old, outdated, and not at all what you would expect from the first impression the lobby gives. Overall, this place needs major improvement in both communication and room quality.
