The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbus Fort Benning offers a convenient location near Fort Benning and provides a complimentary breakfast. Guests consistently praise the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, especially Laverne and Donna. However, recent reviews indicate issues with room cleanliness, potential security concerns regarding housekeeping, and occasional operational hiccups like malfunctioning PTAC units.
We had a great stay here. The room was nice. The people at the front desk were friendly. Hot breakfast every morning with variety which was very nice. Overall, they did a great job. There were a number of things that seemed to go bump in the night, every night. Not sure if it was neighbors, or we were too close to the elevator, but that was a little disconcerting. But overall, we say it was a good stay.
My family and I stayed at ur hotel 02/25/26 & checked out this morning. We will never use ur services again and will advise our friends and family to do the same. I also commented to my sons commanding officer at fly benning to please remove ur hotel from the "preferred list". The female custodian whom u employ (had no name tag) can be described as a middle aged white female with greasy hair and a filthy mouth and smelt terribly of alcohol was very rude and while we were waiting on the elevator was useing very filthy language talking to another employee and when I attempted to approach her about using the vulgar language at the volume my 8yo son could hear the aroma of alcohol about knocked Me down and this was at 10:30 in the morning I just turned and walked away. We will stay at another establishment when coming to visit our son who is in ranger school I will do my best to make sure that no other military family will stay at ur hotel. No child or adult for that matter should have to be subject to that kind of vulgar behaviour and language. I am very disappointed
Good location for Ft Benning GA Graduation. Some reservation issues. Ask about hold account with card, so a possible cancelation can be avoided. First room PTAC unit was bad and in need of repair. Moved us the next day to a new room. Rooms were clean. Pleased with the move to first floor. Ashley at the front desk did a great job accommodated us through the slight ordeal.
They are in the process of updating some rooms. This was not a problem at all for my Family. What stands out to be was the excellent staff y'all have at this location. Ive stayed at a lot oce hotes and IHG's this is the best in service. Also great location from the base and everything you should need. Thank your Staff for their excellence room 412.
I am a IHG member and use Holiday Inn often. There have been a number of disappointing stays lately and this was one of them. Service was fine and uneventful. Nothing great vut certainly nothing bad. Carpet in room was stained awful. Like a full fledged food fight happened and stained the floors. Carpet was torn up to the point you can see the subfloor underneath. Only 2 washcloths and towels when the stay was for 3 people. Food looked fine for breakfast and it was a free breakfast. The basics and hot. Internet was OK. TV was out dated and not a smart TV. Certainly not a place I would stay again for $150 a night after taxs and fees even with my discounts.
A pretty strange experience. I can't recall the guy's name but front desk/check-in was phenomenal. Around 5PM I'm sitting at the desk in my room finishing up some work when there's a knock. As I stand up to answer the door it suddenly swings open and a house cleaner just lets themselves in. She claims she needs to bring some towels. I'm utterly confused. "Uhh, did I ask for any towels?". "No, I have to bring these towels in here". There were already towels in the bathroom but she walked right in, added to the stack, and let herself back out. What just happened? Why did housekeeping just barge into my room and, upon realizing it was occupied, continue to consciously invade my privacy? I've stayed in thousands of hotels and never experienced this. Front desk mixes up a booking and some other guest accidentally walks into your room? Sure, that happens. House cleaners walking into your room, acknowledging you, realizing they shouldn't be there, but continuing to run their rounds at 5 in the evening anyway? That is weird. Are you guys punishing them if there aren't redundant towels in the bathroom or something?
we just checked into our rooms and Donna at the front desk was very welcoming and accommodating. We had rooms at different locations and she arranged it so we could be all together! Thank you so much! I think Donna deserves a raise!
Clean, friendly staff. I’m a IHG member so when I travel I stay at holiday in express. Room was clean and nice. Breakfast was really good. they have a fresh coffee bean grinder which was a first at any hotels. only thing was that the pool wasn’t open. I guess pool doesn’t open till June. We were here end of may. but over all we had a good stay.
A Truly Unacceptable Stay... Our recent experience was, without a doubt, the worst hotel stay we've ever encountered. The very early morning began with the fire alarm sounding, forcing a building-wide evacuation. My husband, who is handicapped, and I struggled immensely with our luggage during this stressful event. Given that we were only able to be in our room for a few hours and used NO facilities other than the bed, I contacted the manager to request compensation. To my dismay, she initially refused ANY form of refund. After persistent pleading, she finally agreed to a partial refund in the form of membership points. Frankly, the manager's unprofessional demeanor was deeply troubling, especially for someone in the hospitality industry. Her lack of empathy and poor handling of the situation indicate that management is certainly not her strong suit. I would never want someone with her approach representing my company. If you're looking for a restful night's sleep or a professional establishment, I strongly advise you to pass on this one.
I normally don’t write reviews but I wanted to shout out miss Donna at the front desk! She is extremely helpful, kind, and overall made the process so easy. Her hospitality is the highlight of my stay. The room was clean and overall this is a very nice hotel with decent room pricing. Definitely recommend and if I come back, I’ll be staying here again!
