City Mills Hotel receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, praised for its historic charm, friendly staff, and convenient location near the Chattahoochee River. While some reviewers noted minor issues like obstructed views and dusty rooms, the overall experience is consistently described as pleasant and memorable.
Cute hotel the corner room was roomy. The only thing was there were ladybugs in our room, glad I like ladybugs so they really didn’t bother me. It was clean but in the main room still had some trash in the trashcan, so that raised a little concern. Overall I would stay there again.
This hotel was beautiful, clean, and had so much character. The staff there was kind and was there to help in any way. They upgraded our room to a suite which was really nice! The bed was very comfy. This would have been a five star review if the location was better. There are train tracks right in front of the building, and all night, literally all night, all they did was blow their horns. We were lucky if we got an hour of solid sleep each night. Heavy sleepers may not mind it.
This place is breathtaking! The way they transformed an old mill into such a beautiful hotel is impressive, with so much character and charm. On top of that, the employees are exceptionally friendly and caring—you truly feel welcomed here. And it does not stop here, the restaurant has a top notch atmosphere with delicious food and drinks! Highly recommend booking here for a stay in Columbus, Georgia.
Beautifully restored old mill. Rooms are spacious , clean and many have river views. One of the few nice hotels in the Columbus area. Good "free" breakfast and coffee available all day. Excellent service. Only downside is it's pet friendly but that perk is everywhere lately.
We recently stayed at this hotel in Columbus, GA, and overall had a very pleasant experience. The biggest highlight was the staff. Stefanie was especially friendly and welcoming, as was the young man working at the check-in desk. The woman who assisted us at checkout was just as helpful and kind. Customer service really stood out during our stay. The hotel itself was very quiet, which made for a relaxing visit, and the on-site restaurant was top notch. We were also pleasantly surprised by the complimentary water bottles and the breakfast—both were excellent and not something many hotels of this caliber typically offer. That said, there were a couple of disappointments. We paid extra for a balcony room overlooking the river, but a large event tent completely blocked the view, which was frustrating. Additionally, the room was quite dusty and felt as though it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. Despite those issues, the friendly staff and overall atmosphere made the stay enjoyable. With a bit more attention to room cleanliness and better communication about obstructed views, this would be an outstanding place to stay.
We loved staying here on a road trip. Next time we'll stay longer to enjoy the miles of bike trails along the river. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. Our room was great, with comfortable beds, nice big shower, and Nespresso coffeemaker. The free breakfast was delicious, with lots of hot and cold food choices. We had a croissant, grits, scrambled eggs, and turkey sausage made by the adjoining restaurant. The restaurant was closed Monday night so we didn't have a meal there, but we'll try it next time. The area around the river is gorgeous.
Beautifully reimagined factory buildings set right on the Chattahoochee, with all the modern amenities you could ask for! The hotel was easy to find, located close to downtown but removed enough that it was quiet in the evenings. We loved that it is right on the River Walk and we were able to get a couple of walks in during our stay. The bed was comfortable, shower had great water pressure, and everything in the room worked well. The only thing that might be an issue is the lack of clothing storage, it was limited to 2 hooks for hanging and no dresser - not necessarily ideal for an extended stay. Breakfast was very good, pretty standard fare and the homemade biscuits were excellent. Definitely appreciated that guests have 24 hour access to their fantastic automatic espresso machine, as well as water and snacks. Staff were all friendly and took great care of us. This will definitely be our go-to next time we're in the area!
My wife and I just left your establishment. We loved it. The super quaint southern feel with a touch of a modern look was so serene we didn't want to leave. To top it all, the customer service was the best we've ever experienced at a hotel.
Hands down the absolute best hotel in all of Columbus, possibly in all of Georgia! The staff is beyond amazing, from accommodating an extended stay to adding an additional room at the last minute, their smile never dimmed and their genuine spirit never faltered. We stayed at City Mills for my grandsons graduation from Ft. Benning in order to be close to everything but forever more, we'll be coming back for the hospitality! The free breakfast in the morning and snacks and beverages all day was just icing on the cake. The stunning hotel decor and beautiful clean rooms were such a pleasure to walk into every night after a day celebrating our graduate. I can't recommend City Mills enough, everything was absolutely top notch!
Ms Gina and Mr Michael were PEFECT hosts. We came for graduation and they were absolutely spectacular. I would come back just to stay with them. It was as if I was talking to family I hadn’t seen in years. They gave us a brief history of the building and let us know we were in good hands. We love places with historic charm and this was everything we needed and some. Thank you so much for being the perfect hosts and being so warm and welcoming. It was my first time visiting Columbus and the location is great. The water view was awesome and the hotel is close to many things without being in the center of traffic. Tucked away in a nice space with plenty of parking. The housekeeping staff members were also very sweet! The room reminds us of our loft at home with the exposed brick and chic updates. Again, thank you for a beautiful time and I can’t wait to come back and see you both!!!
