The Clarion Pointe Hotel Columbus receives mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding cleanliness, pests, and basic maintenance. While some guests appreciate the location and friendly staff, numerous complaints detail issues with room conditions, including stains, mold, roaches, and a lack of hot water. The hotel’s value proposition is questionable given the reported deficiencies.
Will absolutely never stay here again. The second you walk in the lobby it's just overwhelming smell of weed. Our room had a dripping AC so loud you could hear it the whole night. The bottom sheet came off the bed because they are the cheapest sheets available, I'm sure. The carpets were sticky. The pull out couch my kids used was literally stained with body sauce of some kind. Absolutely disgusting. We could not get out of there fast enough. The walls are paper thin and we could literally hear people's conversations just speaking at normal levels. I am not a hotel snob, just a regular person - but just no, absolutely not. And the pool was...no...no. Just NO. One of my children even brought me the brochure and said, "hey look how they lied about how the pool looks!" ? Stay somewhere else!
This hotel is not a Super 8 but it’s also not a Hilton. You will get what you pay for. The location is ideal with the shopping and restaurants around and it is nestled nicely off the beaten path and feels safe when going outside at night. That’s where the accolades end. The hotel can definitely use some upgrades and remodeling. The bathrooms are borderline gross. The tub has all kinds of cracks and scratches on it. The side of the toilet still had pee or either rust on the screws by the floor. The towels were grungy and still had old stains on them. My washcloth had a hole in it. The comfort of the beds was decent but again old stains were on the linen. The housekeeping lady was knocking on doors asking if we had trash or dirty towels. I told her we do but my wife is in the shower. She said yall have a stay-over so if we don’t get to it today we will get to it tomorrow. I thought to myself…oooook and I hope so but that does us no good at all since we will be gone by then. Speaking of the shower…the water pressure was awful and it was luke warm at best. We stayed here because we came to town due to an emergency family situation and it was the most affordable for us at the time. If this is in your price range and what you can afford; by all means go for it. If you can afford a little better quality hotel I would definitely recommend it.
Overall: decent hotel. Only complaint would be spotty wifi, and non-functional wall outlets. Wifi didn't work for most of my stay and certain wall outlets did not function. Rooms were great, pool was good, breakfast was a little lack luster, but staff were real nice.
Room was nice. Staff was nice. If you’re looking to swim don’t bother it’s very gross and smells like fishy crick water. The fitness room was gross also. We were super disappointed with our stay
Arriving nobody was at the desk. The room had previous damage. The hot water never got hot couldn't shower comfortably. ALL night long people above us was banging and acting like their wrestling. Couldn't get any sleep! Worst stay in my life! Oh the pool was down due to maintenance. (The pool was the only reason why we booked here!) Stains everywhere! No bar it's just a fridge behind the counter. Breakfast is powder eggs, microwave sasage, waffles, and some packaged bake goods.
We reserved a room at Clarion Pointe, Columbus, GA during our ride on Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel was very clean and smelled good. Mrs. Fann at the front desk was super nice and very professional, after long hours on the road it was very welcoming to have someone so nice and helpful, and because of her hospitality We decided to come back three nights later on our way back, She actually should get 5 stars. Our first and second room were very clean, but on the first one, 302, the bathtub was dripping a noisy water drop constantly, I closed the door and not a big deal. I had a conversation with the manager and they are doing some fixing on a few details around the rooms and hallways. The AC/heather works perfect, I loved the pillows and bed, parking lot was perfect, safe and with good lighting. The elevator was clean, the breakfast area was good and enough to start the day. Location is an A+, a lot of restaurants and stores, all you need in a good area just walking distance. I will stay there again next time We travel around that area.
This hotel is such a horrible place for a family to reside at. When you first enter the room, the place smelled closed in and moth balls. There were hair throughout the bed, pillow, sheets, towles, and face cloth. The shower curtins were torn and the bathroom had mold throughout it. The TV was the absolute worst being that they use a flat screen TV without the HDMI cable which made it hard to view any stations. The furniture is very outdate and needs to be recycled. The pool water looked murky and unpleasant. All appliance throughout the room was very old. The shower and toilet was damaged and old. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!! Just a concern citzen that dont like his money wasted.
Upon arriving, I was given a 3rd floor room. After a day of traveling the first thing I wanted to do a shower so at 6:30 at night that’s what I went to do and the room had zero hot water. After making a complaint I was switched to a room on the first floor to be closer to the water heater. While, that room did have hot water, It was barely enough to take a decent 2 minute shower and in order to get the water hot, you had to run the water in the sink for several minutes and then run the water in the shower at the same time. Neither the third floor or the first floor room looked like they had been vacuumed. Both had stuff all over them, and on the first floor room that I switched to hair ties were scattered everywhere. This brings me to the cleanliness of the bathroom. It looked like someone had previously showered, and nothing was cleaned. There was dirt and hair both inside and outside of the tub (I have short, blonde hair). It looked like someone had used the toilet and not flushed. Also, in both rooms, the tubs dripped; my bath mats had both fallen in the tub and were soaked. I had to request new ones before I could shower. I woke up the next day to two dead cockroaches on the bathroom floor. The hotel had a continental breakfast, though I did not have high expectations, I was hoping that it would be somewhat hot. The eggs and sausage were lukewarm at best and after waiting 15 minutes to try to get someone to refill the waffle mix and coffee, I gave up. After leaving, my son realized that he left one of his AirPods in the room. We were already a few hours out, so we called the hotel to double check, they confirmed it was left and found. We let them know we live in a different state and could not turn around and so they had agreed to ship it (UPS is literally right behind their location). We would pay the cost, and I offered to also pay an additional fee for the person who would ship it (for their time) and here we are a three weeks later, still no AirPod. I anticipate at this point that they will not reach out for us to pay to get that shipped to us. We have reached out to them twice at this time to get it shipped. The only positive thing I can say is that there was one customer service representative that was super nice and she was completely understanding!
I stayed for 3 days and 4 nights. If you are looking for an emergency stopover hotel, your budget is tight, and you are traveling alone, this hotel might work for you. But if you’re looking for a place to rest, be comfortable, or come with family, I definitely do not recommend it. The hotel is dirty, there are cockroaches, and the strong smell of humidity makes it hard to sleep or even breathe comfortably. On Saturday, many people came in with alcoholic drinks to the dorms and made a lot of noise, combined with the humidity it was impossible to rest. Breakfast is another problem: it is very basic and not enough for all the guests. My room had dirty sheets, or they were so old they looked dirty. I do not recommend this hotel.
The lady at the front desk was really sweet from start to finish. The room was was clean however there were roaches all in the bathroom shower. And these weren't water bugs, so my family and I grabbed our things and left immediately.
