I WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS! Absolutely horrible experience at Motel 6. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because they proudly advertise "Pets Stay Free." However, upon arrival, I was charged a $150 deposit because I had my documented SERVICE ANIMAL with me. To make matters worse, the room itself was disgusting. There were dead roaches throughout the room, which should have been a clear sign of the poor condition and lack of cleanliness at this property. It was unacceptable and unsanitary. I wasn't expecting much as it is a budget hotel but we literally needed 6 hours to crash and get back on the road. After checking out, I was informed that they would return my deposit to my card in 4-5 days. Here we are 10 days later and they are now saying they would not be returning my $150 deposit because they claimed someone smoked in the room. The problem is that neither I nor anyone staying with me smokes. When I called the front desk to dispute the charge, I was told they had pictures proving smoking occurred. As soon as I asked to see the pictures, the employee hung up on me. Since then, they have refused to answer my calls or provide any evidence whatsoever to support their accusation. The lack of professionalism is unbelievable. If they truly had evidence, why refuse to provide it? Instead, they simply kept my money and stopped communicating. I also contacted corporate, hoping they would investigate the situation and help resolve the issue. Unfortunately, corporate was no help at all and seemed completely uninterested in addressing my concerns. What makes this even more concerning is that Motel 6 advertises that pets stay free, yet I was charged a substantial deposit because of my service animal. Combined with the refusal to return my money, the unsanitary conditions, and the complete lack of transparency, this raises serious concerns about how guests are being treated. Between the dead roaches, the questionable deposit practices, being accused of smoking without evidence, having the phone hung up on me when I asked for proof, and corporate's refusal to help, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I will be filing complaints with the appropriate agencies and exploring all available legal options regarding the improper withholding of my deposit. THIS IS ILLEGAL! Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else.

This Motel 6 is hands down the nicest one I've ever stayed at. The kitchenettes actually work, with tile floors, kick plates on the bathroom walls, granite counters, reliable electric burners, and full cabinets top to bottom. It's perfect for my girlfriend and me after moving from Colorado. I see a lot of negative reviews online, but they seem to keep the riff-raff out here with signs everywhere warning you'll be tossed for any suspect behavior. People gripe about the refundable pet deposit and $50 room deposit, but if you've seen how nice these rooms are, you'd get it—it's how they keep bums away and attract classier guests.

The beds were hard. The room needed updating. The toilet handle was broken. The first night we didn't have any hot water.

Apparently because we missed a visit from room service we have to wait an entire week to get our linens replaced. The front desk lady is unreasonable and has a bad habit of making it her business to punish the people staying in her location. It's franchised owned so they do whatever they want without fear of being reported to corporate. No stars.

Great central location for touring Historic Columbus. Surrounded by restaurants and shopping and right on the main thoroughfare, only blocks from the Historic district and riverfront.

very disappointed! was unable to access our original room and then was ‘banned’ for smoking despite booking a “smoking room”.. wasted $75 for a bed with bedbugs!! Also forbidden areas NEED TO BE POSTED ON SIGNAGE!

A place to sleep. I ended up in a very large (smoking) suite, which is probably my fault. When I explained the miscommunication, I was told nothing could be done. Perfect location. Just minutes from downtown Columbus.

If I could give this Hotel a zero I would it's horrible as soon as I got out the car to get the key for my room people was hanging around carrying guns trying to sell drugs right in the parking lot and in the lobby I booked through a 3rd party website (booking.com) or I would of left right then but I get the keys go back out to my vehicle to get our belongings and go to the room as we are getting our stuff out of the car 2 guys walk past and look us up and down and one of them pulled a gun half way out there hoodie pocket right then I was scared but I went up to the room anyway and as soon as we walked in the room you could see the door had been kicked in it was bowed in at the bottom and wouldn't lock, right then I knew we was not safe so we got our bags and left on the way out we saw the guys that flashed the pistol in the lobby talking with the lady that worked there and the staff and the manager of the motel knows whats going on there and they don't care so there not any help at all im reporting them to the health department, police department & booking.com because I trusted them to put me somewhere safe and that was not the case do not waste your money going here you will probably get robbed in the process as well

I was on the 5th floor. It was very nice. The only problem I had was people walking past my room talking loud, which alerted my dog to start barking off and on all night. Also having to put $150 deposit for my E.S.A. and will take 3-5 days to see back on my card!!

I really did enjoy my stay here and it was definitely worth what I paid. The room was clean and I did not hear any neighbors. The staff were great for answering questions and they were friendly. There's nothing fancy about staying here but if you need somewhere safe to stay I recommend this place.
