Days Inn North Columbus consistently receives negative reviews citing widespread cleanliness issues, pest infestations (roaches and cockroaches), and poor maintenance. Staff behavior is frequently criticized, with reports of rudeness and a lack of responsiveness to guest concerns. The property appears to be outdated and poorly managed, offering little value for the price.
This is one of the worst hotels ever! Staff are incompetent and rude. There was no breakfast, just toast and coffee, everything else was broken. No hot water and manager didn't believe us. Plumber just barged in as we were still getting dressed. 1st room was incredibly dirty and not cleaned, 2nd room next door at least the trash was taken out. Every night they had no extra pillows or blankets, barely any extra towels. Seriously outdated building. These people should not be running a hotel and this building needs to be shut down. Everytime they were informed of something wrong they acted like it was not their problem and didn't care!!!!!
Got into town at 2:20pm, went in and asked the woman if they had any rooms. She said, I’m a rude manner, “I will at 3!”. No good afternoon, how are you, nothing. I went next door to Comfort Inn and asked the lady who greeted me very pleasantly if they had any rooms, and she said they did and checked me in early, even though the sign next to her said 3pm. A little pleasantness goes a long way and it won’t hurt to make an exception sometimes. Days Inn, take note.
Very nice staff and the room was clean as usual. My favorite spot in Columbus to rent rooms from. The pancake breasts are awesome so don’t miss out on those.
The room was dirty and infested with cockroaches. The curtains wouldn't fully close, I had to tie them with a hairtie to close them. Despite that, there were holes worn into the curtains too. When they "cleaned" the room on our second day there, they only straightened the beds. The toilet was used and not flushed, there was a dirty washcloth left in the tub, and the sink was left dirty too. I HOPE they didn't have bedbugs as well. I didn't see evidence, but I have a few new bites and I can't tell if they were mosquito, cockroach, or bedbug bites. I will NEVER stay at a Days Inn again.
The guy at the front desk was rude as soon as we got there. Then we got to the room and there was a condom wrapper on the bed, the room was left a mess and trash was everywhere, there was bugs and roaches crawling all on the floor.
The Days Inn was about 4 MI away from Midtown Piedmont hospital where my son was being treated. The rooms were adequate even though the building was probably several decades old ie.in the doors didn't fit exactly and so on. The building appeared to be fairly well maintained. The biggest problem that we had was the shower curtain which is not straight but curved to hold the couch shower curtain away from you when you took a shower but somebody had pulled on it and it came down it would push back up and stay there as long as you didn't pull on it plus, the toilet was running constantly. I eat a low-carb diet so the breakfast was almost useless to me because all the food was loaded with either starch or sugars. It is becoming increasingly common for people to decrease sugars and starches in their diet. For me, this "breakfast" has effectively no benefit aside from the coffee which i do appreciate. In closing, when i checked out, the manager and the desk clerk were seated behind the desk so i thought i would mention the maintenance issue issues that i noted above. When i did so, the desk clerk not only did not acknowledge me but her gaze was not diverted from her cellphone for even an instant. When i glanced over at the manager he gave me some lip service that could be only described as rude. I was shocked that an employee would treat a customer so rudely especially in the presence of her manager. I have been in management my entire work career (currently retired). If i had witnessed one of my employees ignore a customer like she did to me, disciplinary action would be forthcoming immediately. I think this is what happens when a professional distance is not maintained between a manager and an employee. In short, the best thing i can say about this place is that it is at best a "port in a storm".
Roach motel disguised as a Wyndham — don’t fall for it. This place is absolutely disgusting. Booked through Booking.com and walked straight out after seeing the room. Roaches crawling on the walls and floor like they paid rent. The smell hit me as soon as I opened the door — mildew, funk, and filth. Sheets were stained, bathroom was nasty, and the whole place felt like a biohazard. Tried to get a refund and was completely ignored. Hotel blamed Booking.com, Booking.com blamed the hotel — meanwhile they both keeping my money like I paid to visit hell. Filed complaints with the BBB and the health department. This place should be condemned. DO NOT STAY HERE. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy sleep here, let alone bring my family. You’ve been warned.
Before I get into a honest review. I want to give a special s/o to the young lady on night shift, my apologies I didn’t get your name. You are awesome and thank you for accommodating us and our last minute travel plans. Overall we enjoyed our stay, it was more than convenient. Now my honest review of the overall environment . There are two sides to this property, the urban and the peace. We were told at check in that we could get availability on the 4th floor. We did a quick walk thru before booking and we were shown the front side “peace side”. We were told that bc we were only from Atlanta that we are considered locals. The locals stay in the backside and it’s definitely an urban side type energy. There was an altercation between residents that occupy the property short-term. No biggie bc it’s the location right! The rooms were clean and large enough for our group. The elevator the backside is scary! Definitely unsafe and needs some fine tuning. It would gradually move even when there is someone walking thru, the doors sensors are off by a lot. This is where service went down hill. We had to get more keys for re-entry for our rooms. There was a white male appeared to be maintenance openly discussing business matters to the front desk clerk white female. He was mentioning kids pulling a chair to the edge of the pool and how it was a safety hazard. He went to the extent of saying, “I’m going to call DFCS”. Also suggesting that the clerk calls if it is done again, he said he would “shut the pool down”. May I mention majority of the residents in the hotel and in the pool at that given time are brown indigenous beings. They were watching the closely on the security cameras at the front desk. Based on my observation, he was either being extremely racist or plain out cruel and unprofessional. This is the reason my rating is where it is, bc of awful unprofessionalism. You all have to be mindful of who you are selecting to be the face of your Brand. 4/10 I don’t recommend and the short term residents should consider finding more available hotels in the area. The place is being ran terribly!
The hotel had roaches they didn’t have towels or trash bags at the front desk. The front desk lady was very disrespectful. They have thin paper bedsheets their dresser had no bottom part in the room, also the room had a weird smell
I booked two rooms as they were so affordable but I guess you get what you pay for. A cockroach scurried across my daughter's bed. We immediately asked for a refund and received one with no fuss at all, which I appreciate. We moved to another hotel and when my daughter unzipped her toiletries kit, another cockroach scurried out. This is not cool. People shouldn't take bugs home with them when they check out of a hotel.
