The Econo Lodge Inn & Suites at Fort Benning receives mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and guest satisfaction. While some guests praise the affordability and friendly staff, recurring issues with room conditions, including infestations, dirty facilities, and billing discrepancies, are prevalent. Many reviewers feel the property does not live up to its advertised standards and the experience is disappointing.
Work the room was disgusting. The advertise a pool but the pool is not even open instead is dirty with no water in it. The breakfast that they advertise really just consist of coffee juice and two different types of cereal. The rooms look nothing like their photos. When I mention something before I left the lady told me that I should have said something when I first got there. I was traveling from Chicago to see my son he was in the army. I was extremely tired also they should know what their rooms look like before they give them to their guest.
I arrived early coming from Chicago I knew I would be charged extra but $60 is a bit much. When me and my children walked in the room there was a bad order. The room was disgusting I was so disgusted by the room but again I was traveling from Chicago on a bus. So me and my children were just exhausted. The tub was dirty, the sink, towels walls and floor were all dirty. There was yellow paint on the wall by the door. The shower curtain was stained. The room looked nothing like the photos each bed has two really flat pillows and dirty sheets. No comforter to cover up with. I had to run to the store and purchase towels, blankets shower shoes ect. The pool had no water and was dirty anyway. The breakfast consist of coffee, juice and two different types of cereal. It was such a huge disappointment nothing looked like the photos. Also even after using the shower shoes I bought my kids and I ended up getting some kind of rash on our feet from the tub. I didn't mention anything to the front desk until I went to check out. The lady just said " you should have said something when you got here" I was tired and my kids asked me just to leave it alone because we were there to see their brother in the army. Also I shouldn't have to say anything. They should know what their rooms look like. They are charging way too much for that run down place.
Had to pay early to check in never got the deposit back after the man said everything was good . also the room smelled so bad and pillows were tiny and I woke up and seen cockroaches..pretty sure there was a drug dealer staying in the room next to me and the pillow cases were disgusting. Didn’t see bed bugs which is a plus. Paid 2 night but I couldn’t bare to stay another night.
If you don't want to have a bad time here, it's best not to rent here. Nobody cleans the rooms, the pool isn't working. I paid for 5 days here and left my recruit on the last day, and they charged him for an extra day even though I had already paid. Nobody came to clean during all those days. Terrible service. No sir, I paid for 5 nights. I left yesterday and dropped my son off on the last day, Saturday, but someone arrived and was told they had to pay for that Saturday night even though I had already paid. Secondly, the cleaning lady never came all week; I had to take out the trash myself. Thirdly, regarding the towels, I had to go out and ask for them to be changed; I had to take them myself and give them to her.
I had just checked into my room and within 5 minutes I couldn't breathe. I was alone in the room, amputee, in wheelchair. I hurried to the door, rolled to office and signaled to the staff to call ambulance. Within 5 minutes I was on my way to the hospital had congestive heart failure. Thanks to their fast actions I am doing fine. I had to repay for that room again, but I am grateful they stored my belongings while I was in the hospital. I've been here since March 1, 2026 and I've extended another weeks stay
Beautiful hotel with excellent service! The rooms were spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and the entire place had a relaxing vibe. The staff was very respectful and attentive. I felt safe and well taken care of during my stay.
I decided to sit in my car while my son rested. This place is absolutely revolting. I only came through because my son graduated and needed a few hours rest before he had to return to base. Thank God I carry clorox wipes because everything had some sort of filthy sticky film to it(remote control, doorknob, chair, ect... I would not bring my dog here. And for the price I could have stayed overnight at 3 star. The staff was very nice, that was the selling point. Im so disgusted, I may need to go to the doctor after this.
Very wonderful customer service skills. Me and my fiance are moving from Atlanta to Columbus and until we find a home to call home we will stay here. A really big difference from Atlanta. Just what we were looking for peace, quietness and business ventures. And we love the price
I stayed in a double-bed room that’s supposed to sleep four people, but the room only came with 2 towels, 1 washcloth, and 1 hand towel. Not great if you’re bringing the whole family. The place itself is fine for on-the-road workers who just need a quick, simple spot to sleep, but it’s definitely not set up for a full group. If you’re traveling with more than two people, be prepared to ask the front desk for extra linens. Overall, good for a basic stay — just not family-friendly.
This is one of the most economical with the best service hotel I have ever been in this area. The front office staff was extremely customer friendly and they would go above and beyond to accommodate our needs and request. I strongly recommend this motel.
