The Hampton Inn Columbus North receives mixed reviews, with some praising its location, friendly staff, and modern rooms. However, significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance issues (including mold, broken windows, and bedbugs), inconsistent air conditioning, and occasional service problems persist. Recent reviews highlight a troubling trend of unsanitary conditions and operational difficulties.

We came here to support our service member. If I had not have driven over 18 hrs I wouldn't have slept. I was placed by the elevator and was just me and another adult. There were kids screaming and crying all hours. The AC was load and had a metal sheet you couldn't move, which was raddling the whole night. Bed anytime you would move would move or partner. I looked for reviews for weeks around the area, which most bases aren't the greatest. That being said, also look at my review of the one across the street at almost the same price, at the time. Holiday inn was a little better. If we have to come back, that is where we will be staying. Also want to add, this hotel had mold starting in the bathroom as well as a broken/ cracked window we noticed. Definitely scan the room and take pictures. That's what we did. We brought our own blankets and pillows, that was just preference. We also didn't eat the breakfast only because Hampton inns in past haven't been very good. We went to coffee shop down the road. Overall, wasn't the worst place I have stayed at but not the best for sure.

The hotels seemed recently renovated. Unfortunately, housekeeping is not doing their part to keep it in good condition and clean! Staying for 3 nights. Room smelled like wet dog had stayed in room. Floor to the kitchen area was dirty and slippery!! BED HAD HAIR ALL OVER! Toilet was absolutely disgusting with urine behind the cover and on the base!! Beer bottles left under kitchen sink and little Fridge smelt Like rotten food!!

Stayed here while traveling and it was a good choice. The check in was a little slow but the lady was very nice and friendly. The room had ple ty of space and was clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was a little let down. There were not a lot to choose from and they did not have any half & half for the coffee. It is located close to several restaurants, which makes it convenient. Overall I would say this was a good visit and I would stay here again.

On 11/25/25 I was staying at the hotel i booked with Hilton using a specific card to hold my room . I told them I would use a different card upon arrival. My card was ran prior to my arrival. Once I arrived the clerk explained why it happened. I gave her card I wanted her to use. After check-in the hotel ran my previous card again causing me a overdraft fee. At check-in the card I told them to use was ran a total of 6 times. We were told we had nothing to worry about nothing charged our system is having a problem. If anything does we will correct it. After the 7th time it went through. The next day our statement showed we were charged twice for same room and a additional $75 dollars charge for something no one knows. Because the hotel hold is only $50 which we were told was waived due to inconvenience. So let's recap two overdraft on one card charged twice on our other card and a additional $75 charge. Close to a $500 problem. Heather the asst. Manager offered us points to equal a free night stay those points we never got. I am pissed. I told them that a night was not sufficient to what was caused. This problem is still not fixed as of 11/30/25. Im a rewards member and this is how im treated. At this point we are considering legal action again Hampton Inn and Hilton. The next day when I came to get the matter handled another guest going through a similar problem was out about $1000 dollars. I want the money owed and proper compensation.

I stayed a few weeks ago at Northside Hampton Inn Columbus Ga. The room I requested was 2 Queen beds. The beds were great. The bathroom was the problem. The commode was so low to the ground I could hardly get off of it. No rails. It had a walk in shower. My visit this week I requested a handicap so the bathroom would have a higher commode. It did but no step in shower - a bathtub with a shower head that was hard to figure out how to work. The beds were so low to the floor that it was hard to get off of. It was a no win situation for me. Think changes need to be made.

This past Summer I started coming to Columbus on a regular basis during the week for work. I wanted a nice, clean comfortable room but that wasn't too expensive that I could become a regular. I stayed a few places and they were about what you would expect. Not bad, not great. The Hampton North was a welcomed change. From the moment I walked in the first time the front desk crew were welcoming. Even after a dozen trips now, they are still just as nice and welcoming when I come in from a long day. I sometimes do meetings in the lobby area during the day which is great until they put out the warm cookies in the afternoon and then it becomes hard to concentrate. I dont eat breakfast so I cannot really comment on that but the room is nice and modern. They have glass showers which I prefer (do hotels really clean shower curtains? Gross) The internet is always stable enough for my Zoom meetings so I can leave my hotspot in my bag. If I had to find one thing negative to say, it seemed to take longer for them to repair one of the elevators than it should some weeks ago. There was a few trips where I had to wait a few minutes for each elevator ride but it has been fixed for a while now and is no longer an issue. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Columbus once or on a regular basis.

This is a very nice place to stay close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. It was quite. The breakfast was very good and front desk service was great.

We arrived around 4:00 on 10/16/25. Our room was 80 degrees. They tried to fix the air to no avail. We requested a room change which was not possible because they were “full”. They gave us a fan. When we checked out the agent wrote a message to the manager about it. They may offer us some points. This is the 2nd stay in a row with a Hilton property that has not been pleasant. Very disappointed.

My stay at this hotel was very disappointing. From check-in, the front desk clerk displayed an unwelcoming and irritated attitude, which set the tone for the visit. The room itself was uncomfortable — it had no air conditioning, only a large fan circulating hot air. When I requested a different room, I was told none were available and that several others also lacked air conditioning. Additionally, the room was missing basic amenities such as an ice bucket and an iron. The service did not improve at checkout. There was no staff present at the front desk, only a container with a note instructing guests to “drop keys here.” This level of customer service is unacceptable and does not reflect the standards expected when paying for a hotel stay. I would not recommend.

Sounds good. Looks good. But if you want air conditioning in July, go somewhere else. The ENTIRE HOTEL is hot as hell. It’s completely miserable. And when you ask them if the AC is out, they look at you like you’re crazy as sweat drips down your face and soaks your clothes. It’s ridiculous. I would believe every one star rating you see here.
