Reviews exhibit extreme polarity regarding this property; while some guests praised the friendly staff and included breakfast, many others reported severe maintenance failures, outdated facilities, and lack of basic amenities. The combination of canceled reservations and reports of bed bugs indicates significant service and hygiene issues that outweigh positive attributes.
I was in town for a 3 day work trip and I always stay at Marriott hotels, and this time was no different.check in was smooth, but even before I got in the room I heard this sound coming from the hallway near my room, it sounded like a depressed and broken radiator on its last threads of life. Which continued throughout my stay. When I got into the room I could see the curtains were ripped, which I would overlook if not for the stained sheets and safety hazard. Outlets near the desk were completely coming out of the wall leaving exposed wires. This is not what I've come to expect from Marriott, very disappointed.
Old, outdated, poor serve code and Yes bugs. Upon check in we noticed a very strong mildew smell coming from the back suite ac unit. It was blowing out small black pieces that could be seen on the white covers. The ac in the second bedroom was not working. While sitting on the couch a painting/framed piece of art work fell on my mother. There appeared to be no wiring on the back of the piece to secure it to the wall. I did notify management- Justin- that the picture had fallen and the ac was not working. We filled out paperwork regarding the painting and Maintainence came. Later that night i felt something around my ankles…figured I was being paranoid. The next day I noticed a black spot on the bed. I thought it was more of the stuff that had blown from the AC unit. Much to my dismay it was a bed bug filled with blood. I immediately grabbed a tissue and grabbed the bug. It popped and blood came out. I also took a picture and showed management. Was moved to another room only to be bitten in there as well. Overall the family trip was ruined. Trying to get assistance regarding the issue was a dead end. I was offered point that do not even accumulate to cover even a nights stay any where. Needless to say, won’t be returning and DO NOT recommend. Old, outdated, poor serve code and Yes bugs.
Atmosphere was not what I expected especially for a Mariott. Kitchen was absolutely horrible. I would not want to cook anything or even heat something up. Beds were ok.
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the service I received. I made a reservation two months in advance for my son’s soccer tournament in Columbus. We arrived at the hotel at nearly 11:00 p.m., after driving almost three hours with three children, only to be informed that our reservation had been canceled without any notification, call, or email. This was not just inconvenient—it was completely unacceptable. We were left without accommodations late at night in an unfamiliar city, exhausted and with children. At no point did anyone attempt to contact us or help resolve the situation. There was no apology, no alternative arrangement, and no effort to make it right in the moment. I am disappointed, frustrated, and upset with how this was handled. This experience has caused unnecessary stress and hardship for my family. I expect Marriott to address this situation promptly and provide an appropriate resolution, including compensation for the inconvenience and costs we incurred. Something needs to be done to make this right.
I stayed at this hotel for one night and, unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Despite submitting a detailed room request well in advance via the Bonvoy app and completing mobile check-in early in the day, I was assigned a handicapped room near the elevator - exactly what I had specifically asked to avoid. The front desk agent who checked me in failed to acknowledge my Titanium Elite status, and the overall service felt indifferent. The response I received prior to arrival also showed a lack of attention to detail, referencing the location of the ice machine even though I had requested a room away from it. The property feels dated and could use some updates. The room had a musty odor, the walls were paper-thin, and the bathtub faucet did not function properly. Overall, a disappointing stay that did not reflect the level of care and recognition usually extended to loyal Bonvoy members.
Really friendly staff. Tykia, at the front desk was very professional and kind. She even made sure my dietary needs were met in my gift bag, since I'm vegan!! The manager, Jennifer was excellent and was extremely welcoming and professional as well.
Lady at front desk said she didn't have my reservation then charged me 60 more than booking.com price. I question her honesty. Breakfast was a joke. No meat. I could of stayed at a much better place for the price. Save the stress I endured and stat elsewhere.
One of the best budget friendly hotels I have visited. Breakfast was fresh and different each day. Rooms were clean and well equipped. I was able to cook meals in the room kitchen.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. However, the rooms are so outdated. We booked a 1 bedroom King suite with sofa bed for 3 nights. AC in the bedroom sounded like a locomotive train the 3 hours we were there, can’t imagine how we were going to sleep at night. The sofa bed was not suitable for anyone to sleep on, one would sink right in after setting it up. The room smells too. The bathroom and kitchen floor felt sticky to our bare feet. We complained to the front desk our concerns and couldn’t stay there any longer than the 3 hours we were there. However, they had to charge us for 1 night although we were there for just 3 hours.
I'm a Titanium member and travel a lot. I stay at Marriott's exclusively... usually Residence Inns. They were booked. This hotel is old and in dire need of update and repairs. Breakfast is rudimentary and overall not very good. My room's desk outlets and lamp were not functional necessatating a hunt for outlets that worked. Basic pot ( no pans) for cooking. NO sponges available to wash said pot. Yes it has 2 burner cooktop, regular microwave and regular freezer/fridge. Bed is old and very soft. If you're staying in Columbus for any length of time this is not the place you want to be.
